TOMS Wedges Review

As summer begins and the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is just around the corner, I wanted to review these TOMS Canvas Ankle Strap Wedges that I purchased during last year's Anniversary Sale as I've been reaching for them more frequently. They are a perfect summer staple.

Banana Republic Cropped Cardigan (old),
TOMS Canvas Ankle Strap Wedges sz 5 in Black, Michael Kors Crossbody (old)

Here I'm wearing the wedges with a casual outfit. A great part of these wedges is that they go with casual outfits and dressier ones. I've even worn them with jeans to work.

Typically, I'm a size 4.5 or 5 in wedges but I was fortunate enough to be able to fit into a size 5, which is their smallest size for this shoe. I believe I put the shoes on the tightest or second tightest hole to fit perfectly around my ankle.

If you can tell from the photo above, these wedges do seem to run a bit on the narrow side. My foot doesn't require narrow sizing but they fit perfectly in these. The straps are not as flexible as the original TOMS Classic Slip-ons since they don't have the same ability to stretch.

As you can see, this second outfit shows an example of the wedges being dressed up. I wore this to a date night in NY and they worked perfectly. Especially for vacation, I wanted to bring a versatile pair of wedges and these worked for both casual days and date night.

As for comfort, they're comfortable to wear throughout the day, such as at work when I'm sitting at a desk most of the time. For walking around, they're pretty comfortable but not sneaker comfortable. They have a similar sole as the TOMS slip-ons and are decently comfy. However, the height is pretty tall at a 4" heel with a 1" platform so factor that in and it may not be the best to wear walking around the whole day. I can wear them for date nights or brunch - walking around in them for a couple hours is fine but any more than that and I'd trade for something with a lower heel.

I highly recommend these wedges, especially at under $50 (maybe even cheaper if they go on sale during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!) And with every purchase, TOMS gives a pair to a child in need - yes, even if they're wedges!

Hope this review helped you and hope you have an amazing July 4th weekend!
